Atlanta Beats Montreal, 4-1
|
Atlanta Braves starter Scott Bernstein was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Montreal Expos, 4-1. Sam Schrecengost was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 34 of 35 save opportunities. The Braves, at 86-44, have a comfortable 26-game lead in their division.
Ike Trout, the fan favorite , had a direct impact on the outcome. Trout contributed a 2-run single in the top of the third inning to put Atlanta up, 4-0.
Bernstein told a Atlanta Daily News reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
