Marks Hits 2 home runs in Astros Win
|
A good performance from catcher Mark Marks helped the Houston Astros defeat the Texas Rangers, 7-1. Marks was 2 for 3 with 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice for the Astros. Lance Crumpton was the winning pitcher. Over 8 innings, he allowed 1 run on 5 hits, with 1 walk and 8 strikeouts. Houston, at 58-78, sits in 4th place in the American League West Division.
With Houston leading 1-0 in the bottom of the second, Marks hit a splitter from Kevin Ovens-Toots for a 3-run home run. It was his 8th home run of the season and put the Astros ahead, 4-0.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Marks told the Houston Herald.
