Astros Stick Rangers with 5-2 Loss
|
The Texas Rangers went down to defeat to Jimmy Edlin and his Houston teammates. The final score was 5-2 in favor of the Astros. Edlin, the winner, moves to 8-10. He threw 6.2 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 6 and giving up 4 walks. The Astros improved to 59-78.
The Astros got an important contribution from second baseman Eric Chotkowski, who in the bottom of the third hit a fastball into left-center for a 3-run home run. It was his 17th home run of the season and put the Astros ahead, 4-0.
"I made some pitches when I had to," said Edlin.
