Reds Drop Marlins, 7-3
|
Cincinnati beat Miami on the strength of starter Ragnar Alqvist's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 7-3. The third-place Reds have won 4 straight.
Alqvist, a native of Malmö, Sweden, was dealing all game. He kept Miami hitters off-balance, while giving the Reds 9 quality innings. Alqvist threw 97 pitches, allowing 2 hits and striking out 5.
"We take it day by day here," said Alqvist, "and today was a good one for us."
