Nationals Win at Los Angeles, 4-3
|
Washington picked up a win at Dodger Stadium, bumping off the Los Angeles Dodgers, 4-3. Pitcher Wayne McAllister was a major reason the Nationals emerged victorious. Washington reliever George Kellum picked up the win to move to 6-8. Geoff Mooney suffered the loss. Washington now sits in third place in the National League East Division at 66-77.
Washington used the clutch hitting of Seth Cook to capture the win. The designated hitter drilled a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Nationals ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a big one.
"We take it day by day here," said Cook, "and today was a good one for us."
