Guardians Dealt 4-2 Home Loss
|
The California Angels topped the Cleveland Guardians, 4-2, with designated hitter Mark Reeg playing a big role. Reeg went 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Angels in the win. George Poirier locked down his 23rd save. The Guardians have now dropped 6 straight.
The result might have been different for California, had it not been for Ryuji Ito, the 24-year old catcher . Ito stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put California up, 4-2. For the game, he had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"We'll hit the hot tub in good spirits tonight," said Ito.
