Braves Edge Past Marlins, 3-2
|
Atlanta right-hander Scott Bernstein helped his team edge Miami by the score of 3-2. Bernstein kept the opposing lineup in check. Atlanta reliever Shingo Miura picked up the win, upping his record to 5-3. Jorge Lopez shouldered the loss. With the win, Atlanta raised its record to 96-49.
The Braves procured the win, in large part because of shortstop Yasuhide Kasahara. In the bottom of the 11th, he produced the game-winning run-scoring single.
"Hustle and hard work is a big part of our success," said Kasahara. "Those qualities define our team."
