Marlins Upend Nationals, 5-2
|
In baseball, each game is unique. This one was no different.
Miami Marlins starter Oscar Banda turned in an exceptional performance against the Washington Nationals at Nationals Park, resulting in a Miami win, 5-2. Jorge Lopez was called on to finish, recording his 2nd save.
Bert Clark, the 14-year veteran , had a direct impact on the outcome. Clark contributed a 2-run single in the top of the first inning to put Miami up, 2-0.
Banda attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."
The third-place Nationals have dropped 5 straight games.
