The Detroit Tigers beat the Chicago White Sox, 4-3, at U.S. Cellular Field. Detroit third baseman Brady Jeleniewski had an outstanding performance. He went 2 for 4 with a home run and a triple, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Roberto Benavides got credit for the save for Detroit. It was his 1st of the year. The Tigers raised their record to 73-87.
Jeleniewski had a timely hit for Detroit in the top of the sixth. With Chicago trailing 3-2, he turned a 1-2 fastball into a 2-run home run. It was his 5th home run of the season, making it 4-3, Detroit.
Jeleniewski said his team "played with determination."
