Nationals Deal Braves 6-1 Defeat
|
Getting an impressive start from Danny Diaz, Washington beat Atlanta by the score of 6-1. Diaz got the win, improving to 10-13. He allowed 3 hits and walked 5 over 6 innings. Diaz allowed 1 run. Lionardo Rabelo earned the save, his 4th, for the Nationals.
Washington used the bat of John Sanders to get the win. The second baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Nationals ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it did its damage.
"Enjoyed this one," Sanders told the Washington Chronicle. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
The third-place Nationals raised their record to 74-87.
