Red Sox Curb Expos, 6-3
|
The performance of Jarrett Mordecai proved critical in helping Boston beat Montreal, 6-3. The Red Sox first baseman was 2-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Guadalupe Vasguez recorded the save for Boston, his 4th of the season. The Red Sox, now 10-3, have been sizzling early on.
Mordecai had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a 1-0 slider from Nelson Dawson, he banged a 3-run home run to right, giving the Red Sox a 6-3 lead. It was the 2nd home run of the year for Mordecai.
"We'll take some time to unwind," said Mordecai, "and then get after it again."
