Brewers Squelch Cardinals Offense in Shutout Win
|
Milwaukee Brewers starter Dale Ahernfeld was in a rhythm all game. He led his team to a win over the St. Louis Cardinals, 5-0. Ahernfeld, the winner, moves to 1-2. He threw 5.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 4 and giving up 4 walks. Milwaukee goes to 7-10.
Milwaukee relied on the hitting of Joel Haycock to pick up the win. The first baseman clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Brewers on top, 3-0. For the game, Haycock had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Ahernfeld.
