Athletics Pull Even With 4-2 Victory
|
The Oakland Athletics got a stellar performance from pitcher Elijah Daniels, who handcuffed the New York offense en route to a win, 4-2, at Yankee Stadium. Daniels, now 1-1, was the winner. In 7.2 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 5, walking 1, and allowing 2 runs. Charlie Shook recorded his 3rd save for Oakland.
Jorge Severiano, the top prospect , had a direct impact on the outcome. Severiano contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the seventh inning to put Oakland up, 4-2.
"It all depends on which version of our team shows up," said Severiano. "When we put it all together, I think we're a great team."
New York, at 5-13, is off to a poor start in 2049.
