Semi-Finals Goes the Distance, Washington State University Prevails
|
The Washington State University Cougars are heading to the World Series, having narrowly defeated the Ohio State University Buckeyes.
Washington State University edged Ohio State University in the series 3-2, with a win at Bailey-Brayton Field in the clinching game by a 9-0 margin.
Mas Langat turned in a strong offensive performance for the Cougars and got series MVP for his efforts.
"I'll never turn down another trophy for my mantle, another accomplishment to remember once my career is over," he said. "What I would really remember, though, is a World Series win."
It remains to be seen how the playoffs will conclude, but if Langat continues to swing a hot bat, his team will no doubt have a chance.
For the series, he hit .619 with a .667 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, 4 RBI and scored 9 runs.
The World Series matchups and schedule will be announced after the Semi-Finals finishes.
