Guardians Edge Pirates, 6-5
|
Both teams had their chances, but the Cleveland Guardians eventually prevailed.
Cleveland beat Pittsburgh at PNC Park, escaping with a 6-5 win. The win in large part was due to first baseman David Casas. He was 2-2 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Chris Cohen was credited with the save for Cleveland, his 3rd of the season.
Nick Ogle, the two-time All-Star , had a direct impact on the outcome. Ogle contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the first inning to put Cleveland up, 1-0.
"You win some, you lose some. I don't get too caught up in all that," said Ogle.
The Guardians, with just their 5th win so far in 2049, have yet to catch fire.
