Nationals Take Down Braves, 9-6
|
The Washington Nationals bested the Atlanta Braves, 9-6, at Turner Field. John Sanders was one of the standouts. He went 3-8 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4. Seth Bowersox locked down his 1st save. Despite the loss, Atlanta is still 21-6.
Sanders had a game-changing double in the top of the 18th. On a 0-2 fastball from Nate Bixler, he banged a 2-run double to right-center, giving the Nationals a 8-6 lead. It was the 5th double of the year for Sanders.
"We take it day by day here," said Sanders, "and today was a good one for us."
