Nationals Earn 6-5 Win Versus Braves
The Washington Nationals beat the Atlanta Braves, 6-5, at Turner Field. Washington center fielder Dylan Novakowski had an outstanding performance. He went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs. David Sly picked up the save for Washington, his 7th of the year. The loss has the Braves at 21-7.

Had Bob Melley not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Melley hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 6-5, in favor of the Nationals.

"We need to keep playing good baseball," Melley told the Washington Chronicle.
