At age 35, many would be surprised to see Ian Jarvis still contributing strongly in International League.

But not only did he contribute, the Reno Aces catcher was at the top of the sport, winning the 2049 National League Most Valuable Player Award.

He captured the award with a .283 batting average and a .441 on-base percentage this year. In 116 games he piled up 101 hits, 17 doubles, 1 triple, 27 home runs, 91 RBIs and 73 runs scored.

He received 15 first place votes out of a possible 30. Tsutomu Miyahara of the Memphis Redbirds finished second in voting with 7 first place votes, while Danny Gerardo of the Reno Aces finished third with 4 first place votes.
