Friday, June 25th , 2049
Ryoji Hiraoka showed off his speed, his power and his plate discipline today at Smith's Ballpark, putting together all facets of his game to hit for the cycle in the Omaha win.
The 23-year-old shortstop went 4-for-5, collecting 1 single, 1 double, 1 triple and 1 home run to help the Storm Chasers top the Salt Lake Bees by a score of 3-2. A jubilant Hiraoka told reporters afterward that the experience was "unimaginable."
"Seriously, I would have been happy going 1-for-5 with just the double," he said. "So this feels incredible."
For the day, Hiraoka finished with 1 RBI and 1 run scored to go with his 4 hits.
Ryoji Hiraoka hit a solo-shot off Dave Jackson in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and tripled in the 9th.
This season in 66 games Hiraoka is batting .304 with 9 home runs, 27 RBIs and has scored 44 times.
