Valdez Spins 8-0 Shutout Wednesday, August 25th , 2049 Dave Valdez was in a mood to talk following the Erie SeaWolves contest against the Corpus Christi Hooks, expounding to BNN reporters on his pitching philosophy. He had good reason to be excitable, having tossed a complete game shutout of the Hooks, 8-0. "There are three important elements in pitching success: location, location, and location," Valdez said. "I was hitting my spots time and time again." The right-hander blanked Corpus Christi on a 4-hitter, allowing 1 walk and racking up 9 strikeouts.
