Hickman and Keli'i Suspended for Free-for-All Thursday, August 26th , 2049 Yesterday at Hammons Field Robby Hickman and Peni Keli'i got into each other's space and then into each other's face. They began to grapple and fell to the ground. That's when it boiled over into a full-fledged bench-clearing tussle between the Springfield Cardinals and Harrisburg Senators. Reason finally prevailed as the umpires restored order. After much discussion, only the two major combatants were ejected from the game. Today the league office notified the ballclubs that Hickman will have to sit out 4 while Keli'i would be given a 8-game suspension for their roles in the brawl. This season in 22 games, Hickman has hit at a .313 clip with 21 hits, 1 home run, 10 RBIs and 9 runs scored. On the season Keli'i has compiled a 10-4 mark with a 2.57 ERA in 21 starts. In pitching 126 innings he has 125 strikeouts and 42 walks while limiting the opposition to a .233 batting average. |
