Myers on Fire, 5-for-6 Against Tennessee Thursday, August 26th , 2049 All game long, Reading's Chris Myers was rattling the walls at FirstEnergy Stadium and banging out base hits against the Tennessee Smokies. When the dust finally settled on the diamond, he had a 5-hit day and the Fightin Phils had a 28-0 victory. Speaking with reporters after his standout performance, the 24-year-old second baseman said, "Get 5 hits, win a ballgame, it's nice. I could get used to this." Chris Myers doubled in the 1st, struck out in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 5th, walked in the 5th, was hit by a pitch in the 6th and hit a two-run single in the 7th. In 101 games this season Myers has compiled a .274 batting average with 115 hits and 2 home runs. He has also scored 65 times and knocked in 32 runs. |
