RoughRiders Advance to World Series Thursday, October 21st , 2049 The Frisco RoughRiders took time to celebrate with the Frisco fans who stuck around after the game, following the team's Conference Championship triumph over the New Hampshire Fisher Cats. Members of the RoughRiders hung around chatting, high-fiving and taking pictures with the Frisco fans in attendance at Dr. Pepper Ballpark, long after the last pitch had been thrown in their 2-1 win to seal the series 4-2. "We've got great fan support," said catcher Danny Odom. "Whether we're at home or on the road, the fans support us. So we wanted to show them how important that is to us. Some New Hampshire fans that were there even congratulated us on the win." For the series, Odom hit .556 with a .600 on-base percentage. He had 0 home runs, 3 RBI and scored 1 runs. Things weren't so cordial on the Fisher Cats side of things. Their clubhouse was closed to media after the game and all players and coaches quickly dressed and left the stadium after the end to their season. The World Series matchups and schedule will be announced after the Conference Championship finishes. |
