His teammates and manager said he had a poised demeanor about him that was typical of someone much older and more experienced. His poise has paid off, as the 26-year-old turned in a sparkling season and has been named the winner of the American League Reliever of the Year for 2049.
The Bodega Bay, California native won the award with 37 saves in 64 relief appearances, 75 strikeouts in 73.2 innings and a record of 5-4 to go with his 0.86 ERA.
