Now the 30-year-old pitcher has an award to show just how valuable he was, as he's been named the 2049 American League Most Valuable Player Award winner.
His remarkable campaign saw him put up a 21-4 record. In 31 starts he piled up 236.1 innings, had 222 strikeouts with 67 walks and a 2.55 ERA. Gibson held opposing hitters to a .214 batting average and compiled a 5.0 WAR.
