Nunez Keeps Hit Streak Alive
Wednesday, June 30th , 2049
The streak is alive and well -- at least for today.
Pablo Nunez did it again, bashing 3 hits in the contest at Colorado Rockies Complex today. For the last 20 games in a row, the 21-year-old left fielder has collected at least one hit. His efforts helped the Springfield Cardinals beat the Colorado (EL) Rockies 9-0 today.
"I'm happy I kept the streak going," Nunez told a standing-room-only crowd of reporters gathered in the Springfield clubhouse. "Honestly though, I'm looking forward to going home and not thinking about this for the rest of the day." Pablo Nunez doubled in the 2nd, hit a three-run home run off Dave Shanks in the 4th, singled in the 6th, struck out in the 7th and walked in the 9th.
Nunez is currently hitting at a .317 pace with 9 home runs and 30 RBIs.
