Ono Slams 3 Deep for Carolina
Saturday, December 11th , 2049
Carolina Mudcats left fielder Shigeru Ono had a magnificent game against the Lakeland Flying Tigers today, rocketing three balls out of Joker Marchant Stadium to help the Mudcats take the 10-3 victory.
"I got some good pitches to hit and I creamed them," he said after the game. "The first was a big, fat fastball and the last two were hanging curves. All three were mistakes."
For the game, Ono went 3-for-4 with 7 RBIs and 3 runs scored.
"There's a fine line between hitting home runs and line drives," Carolina manager John Rodd said later. "Seems like Shigeru found his home run stroke today."
Shigeru Ono hit a two-run home run off Cam Hurley in the 1st, flied out in the 4th, hit a GRAND SLAM off Cam Hurley in the 5th, walked in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Edwin Marquez in the 9th.
Ono is hitting .156 for the season with 4 home runs, 10 RBIs and 7 runs scored. He has 5 hits in 32 at-bats and played in 10 games.
