Red Sox Silivan No-Hits Miracle
Wednesday, January 6th , 2049
The Salem Red Sox relied on no-hit stuff from starter Nherbert Silivan to defeat the Fort Myers Miracle 6-0 at Salem Memorial Baseball Stadium today.
"It's quite a thrill," Silivan told the media afterward. "This is a top-notch league. A no-hitter against any team in the league is something special. I can't believe I did it."
To get his name logged in the B Division records, he stopped Fort Myers cold and hitless, surrendering no walks and fanning 10 of the 28 batters he faced.
Salem manager Jorge Ortega was in a jovial mode after the game, kidding with reporters that Silivan "made managing easy today."
"I didn't have hardly any decisions to make like I usually do," he said. "I didn't even have to come up with a pinch hitter."
On the season Silivan has compiled a 3-1 mark with a 3.44 ERA in 6 starts. In pitching 34 innings he has 34 strikeouts and 6 walks while limiting the opposition to a .187 batting average.
