Webb Hurls Perfect Game Against Bradenton
Tuesday, January 12th , 2049
The fans at Calvin Falwell Field marveled today as 24-year-old Steve Webb of the Frederick Keys mowed through the Bradenton lineup, retiring all 27 batters he faced -- a perfect game.

Webb went without surrendering a hit or walk in his historic 12-0 victory.

"I didn't really think about it until the seventh inning," Webb confessed in a postgame interview. "Then all at once, it hit me. From that point on, the pressure was on. When you're conscious of every pitch, every call, every out, just trying to relax is almost impossible. I tried to throw the ball as naturally as I could without thinking a lot. I didn't want to aim the ball. That's when you get in trouble and lose control."

In 8 starts this year Webb has posted 4 wins while suffering no losses. He has pitched 51.2 innings, allowed 33 hits, struck out 77 and has a 1.92 ERA.
