Insley Keeps Hit Streak Alive
Friday, January 15th , 2049
Win or lose, Ray Insley just keeps on getting base hits -- game after game after game. He picked up 2 more today and has now stretched his hitting streak to 20 games.
The Modesto Nuts first baseman went 2-for-4 today, but it wasn't enough to win the game. His club was defeated 7-0 by the Inland Empire 66ers at San Manuel Stadium.
"It's amazing to watch him hit right now, but I don't think anybody's really mentioning it," one of his teammates said. "We just don't want to jinx him." Ray Insley grounded out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, doubled in the 6th and struck out in the 8th.
Hitting .347 to date, Insley has 11 home runs and 31 RBIs. He has played in 30 games.
