He may have less experience than most of his California Winter League peers, but that didn't slow Tony Casas down at all in 2048.
At the age of 22, the Daytona catcher has been named the winner of the A Division Most Valuable Player Award.
He had a .356 batting average and a .496 on-base percentage this year. In 33 games he piled up 36 hits, 5 doubles, 2 triples, 15 home runs, 31 RBIs and 27 runs scored.
"I'm blown away by the season I was able to put together," he said. "I'm looking forward to trying to do it all again next year."
He received 22 first place votes out of a possible 30. Angelo Mora of the Charlotte Stone Crabs finished second in voting with 6 first place votes, while Wes Reynolds of the Frederick Keys finished third with 2 first place votes.
