Sheigus Twirls 5-0 Shutout Thursday, July 22nd , 2049 Magic was in the air and on the mound at Fluor Field at the West End today as Lukasha Sheigus held the Burlington Bees spellbound in his 5-0 shutout victory. The Greenville Drive pitcher went the distance, rang up 11 strikeouts, walked 0 and held the Bees to 3 hits to garner the win. "He just had us in his thrall," Burlington manager Alex Young said later. "We couldn't put anything together against him." Sheigus has compiled an ERA of 2.57 so far this season, winning 9 games with 8 losses and no saves. In no relief appearances he has hurled 115.2 innings, yielded 94 hits and struck out 126. Opposing hitters have batted .223 against Sheigus. |
