BlueClaws Weller Smacks 5 Hits Thursday, July 22nd , 2049 Alan Weller really sizzled at the plate in today's 11-7 win over Power. The Lakewood first baseman blistered West Virginia for 5 hits in 5 at-bats. "Weller was too tough to get out today," the Power skipper said in the postgame interview. "No matter what we threw him, he hit it. And he hit some good pitches, too." Alan Weller hit a two-run home run off Pete Griesser in the 1st, doubled in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, singled in the 7th and hit an RBI double in the 8th. Thus far this season Weller is hitting .286 with 4 home runs, 44 RBIs and 31 runs scored. He has 79 hits in 276 at-bats and has played in 69 games. |
