Almonte Wins Best Bat Award in July Sunday, August 1st , 2049 For a rookie just breaking in, Jose Almonte certainly put together a successful month. It was good enough to win the AL Batter of the Month award for July. The 26-year-old left fielder for the Cedar Rapids Kernels hit .419 with 9 home runs, 23 RBIs and 24 runs scored. On the year Almonte is hitting .294 with 83 hits, 14 home runs, 54 RBIs, .377 OBP and has scored 49 runs. |
