Qi Shackles Lakewood Saturday, August 7th , 2049 Wei-hong Qi was throwing strikes early and getting ahead in the count, his manager said after the Binghamton Mets hurler tossed a 2-hit, complete game shutout against the Lakewood BlueClaws. "I went right after each hitter, trying to get ahead in the count," said Qi. "I wanted them to swing the bats and keep my pitch count down. It worked. I felt strong the whole game, even in the last two innings." Qi walked 2 and struck out 4 in the 7-0 victory. So far this year Qi has no saves in 4 relief appearances with a 4-3 record and 3.29 ERA. |
