Friday, August 20th , 2049
Even as a kid, Kalidas Mishra said his coaches told him the key to hitting was making contact, and letting everything else flow from there. At Dozer Park today, Mishra showed how well he learned that lesson.
The 24-year-old catcher had 6 hits in 7 at-bats for the Peoria Chiefs, helping his team knock off the South Bend Cubs by a score of 20-0.
"They always said, just keep your eye on the ball, don't overswing, make contact and you never know what will happen," he said. "That's all I did today."
Kalidas Mishra doubled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, hit a two-run single in the 3rd, flied out in the 4th, hit an RBI double in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 6th and doubled in the 8th.
This season Mishra is batting .400 with 16 hits and 1 home run. He has scored 8 times and has 13 RBI.
