Great Week for Greensboro's Miguel Velasco Monday, August 23rd , 2049 Miguel Velasco must have thought he was in seventh heaven this week. First he went on a sensational hitting spree, belting the ball at a .438 pace, then the Greensboro first baseman finds out he has been selected the top performer and gets the National League Player of the Week Award. Asked what his hitting philosophy was, Velasco quipped to the BNN reporters, "Well, my theory of hitting is to just watch the ball as it comes in and hit it." It was a good week's work for Velasco. He hit .438 average (14-for-32) with 5 home runs and 15 RBIs. In his 2049 season totals, Velasco has 23 home runs, .296 BA, .370 OBP, 79 RBIs and 62 runs scored. |
