League Gives Nishi 4-Game Suspension
Tuesday, August 24th , 2049
Shohei Nishi has been penalized by the commissioner's office for his verbal and physical assault of an umpire. The right fielder unleashed his fury in protesting a third-strike call in yesterday's Lexington-Greenville game at Whitaker Bank Ballpark. And now he has to pay for it -- Nishi has been suspended for 4 games for his unacceptable actions. The commissioner said in his statement that the league would have zero tolerance for any contact with an umpire, unintentional or otherwise.

Nishi is batting at a .221 pace this season, picking up 86 hits in 390 at-bats with 9 home runs, 31 RBIs and 31 runs scored.
