Injury Shuts Down Martinez for Season Thursday, September 23rd , 2049 "Not what I wanted to hear," said Hagerstown's Alex Martinez to reporters this afternoon, as he revealed that the injury he sustained on 09/21/2049 would force him to miss the rest of the season. "The doctor made it clear," Martinez said. "There's no chance for me -- none at all -- to come back this year. That's the last thing I wanted to hear." Martinez has been out of action since he suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament. In 54 games this year Martinez has posted a .195 average and put up these numbers: no home runs, 12 RBIs and 13 runs scored. |
