Adam Parrish said he thinks hitters often underestimate him, as he's only 25 years old.

But he'll certainly be getting a lot more respect now, as the Clinton LumberKings rising star has won the American League Reliever of the Year for 2049.

He captured the award on the strength of his 1.72 ERA over 68 innings. He also had 5 saves in 59 relief appearances, 88 strikeouts and only 23 walks.

He received 19 first place votes out of a possible 30. Dantae Elizondo of the Lake County Captains finished second in voting with 8 first place votes, while Andres de Leon of the Lansing Lugnuts finished third.
