Silveira-Wray Bangs Out 5 Base Hits Friday, July 9th , 2049 It doesn't happen very often, but it did for Norm Silveira-Wray today -- a 5-hit effort. He went on a rampage at Russell Diethrick Park and paced the Black Bears to a 22-18 win over the Boise Hawks. After his dynamite batting performance, the West Virginia reliever told reporters that he "just tried to get in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control." His philosophy paid dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 6 tries and put his name in the record book. Norm Silveira-Wray hit a two-run double in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, doubled in the 3rd, flied out in the 4th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 8th. |
