Montemayor Hits for Cycle Against Boise Friday, July 9th , 2049 Hugo Montemayor had a banner day at the plate today, stringing together all four legs of the cycle as the West Virginia Black Bears beat the Boise Hawks, 22-18. Montemayor drilled 4 hits in 5 at-bats, collecting 6 RBI and scoring 4 runs to capture the win for West Virginia. "I was fortunate to see some good pitches and I was fortunate to be able to make the most of them," he said later. "It was a good day for us." Hugo Montemayor walked in a run in the 1st, hit a three-run double in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, grounded out in the 5th, hit an RBI triple in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off David Landa in the 8th. This season Montemayor is batting .214 with 31 hits and 2 home runs. He has scored 13 times and has 15 runs batted in. |
