21-Game Streak Ends, Miles Hitless
Thursday, August 12th , 2049
For 21 games in a row, Bobby Miles of the State College Spikes had at least one hit. His day of reckoning finally came today at the hands of the Tri-City Dust Devils, who held him without a hit in 4 at-bats.
Making matters worse for Miles and the Spikes, the Dust Devils also won the ballgame by the score of 5-3.
"Bobby is a great clubhouse presence, and he has done incredible things on the field for us the last few weeks," State College manager Alex Schmidt said following the game. "We're not going to forget all that just because of a bad day."
In 8 games this season Miles has batted at a .400 pace with 14 hits and 3 home runs.
