Compton Tags Emeralds for 5 Hits Friday, August 20th , 2049 It was a big day for Ken Compton and he brought the State College Spikes along for the ride. Compton led his club to a 21-0 victory over the Eugene Emeralds today at PK Park, smoking Eugene pitching for 5 hits in 5 at-bats. The 25-year-old reliever later called the victory "sweet." Ken Compton walked in the 1st, hit an RBI triple in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 4th, was hit by a pitch in the 5th, walked in a run in the 6th, hit a two-run triple in the 7th, hit an RBI single in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 9th. Currently Compton has 20 relief appearances, saving 6. His record is 1-1 with 39 strikeouts in 29.1 innings and a 2.15 ERA. |
