Staten Island Out of Time, Out of Playoffs Saturday, August 21st , 2049 The Staten Island Yankees will soon be packing their bags and heading home for the year. The 2049 season won't involve a playoff run for the club, as Staten Island was mathematically eliminated from playoff contention today. Staten Island last appeared in the postseason in 2044. This is their 5th consecutive year missing the playoffs, and in total they have not advanced past the regular season 20 times in their 34 - year history. In the last 10 seasons, the Yankees have missed the playoffs 5 times. |
