Barr Takes Charge, Blanks Eugene, 10-0 Tuesday, August 31st , 2049 R.J. Barr had an impressive outing at MCU Park today, hurling the Brooklyn Cyclones to a 10-0 shutout victory over the Eugene Emeralds. "He threw strikes and he was always around the plate," Eugene skipper Chris Rowley said. "The ball was doing everything he wanted it to do. We hit some balls hard, but they were all right at the fielders." On the day, the right-handed Barr yielded 7 hits and tallied 12 strikeouts with no walks. This year Barr has recorded a 15-3 mark. In 21 starts he has fanned 178 batters in 137.2 innings with a 2.29 ERA. |
