White Hot, ValleyCats Cold Wednesday, September 1st , 2049 Derek White kept the opposition off the scoreboard and the Spokane Indians were all smiles after winning 14-0 against the Tri-City ValleyCats at Joseph L. Bruno Stadium today. The right-handed White gave up no runs in his start, permitted 3 hits and had 11 strikeouts. "If there was a stat for 'team shutout,' this would be it," White said later. "My catcher called a great game, guys delivered at the plate and when I messed something up the guys behind me were where they needed to be." So far in 26 appearances this season, White has recorded 19 wins and sustained 2 losses. He has pitched 175.2 innings, yielded 127 hits, fanned 227 and has a 1.90 ERA. |
