Eugene Blanked by Larson, 14-0 Monday, September 13th , 2049 Preston Larson had the Eugene Emeralds dancing to his tune today with a sparkling 14-0 shutout performance for the Auburn Doubledays. He gave up 2 hits, issued no walks and had 14 strikeouts. Eugene hitters were bewildered throughout the game by his delivery. "When you face a guy who hides the ball like he does, it takes a couple of at-bats to try to find his release point," opposing manager Chris Rowley said. "We just never figured him out." This season Larson has compiled a 10-7 mark with a 1.45 ERA in 20 starts. |
