Volcanoes Vesey Fans 17 Emeralds Saturday, September 18th , 2049 Allen Vesey of the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes put on a pitching clinic today at PK Park as he struck out 17 Eugene Emeralds in a 23-0 victory. Vesey, who is tied for 9th in the NL with a 0.97 WHIP, was simply magnificent as he held the Emeralds to 2 hits. He walked 1. "I felt okay at the beginning," Vesey said, "but eventually my splitter really started working. I also have to thank my catcher for calling a great game." When asked about Vesey's performance, Volcanoes manager Serafino Brito shook his head and said, "Yeah, he was good out there today. He was dominating." To this point in the season Vesey has 14 wins and 3 losses and a 3.07 ERA. |
