Scrappers Advance to Divisional Championship Friday, October 8th , 2049 With a narrow 4-3 series win, the Mahoning Valley Scrappers have eliminated the Vermont Lake Monsters and are Round 1 winners. "We tried not to look ahead to the Divisional Championship, but we thought we'd be there for sure," said second baseman Jose Argueta, who was named series MVP. Mahoning Valley won the final game by a score of 5-4, wrapping it up at Eastwood Field. Argueta's big series saw him hit .389 with a .522 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, drove in 3 RBI and scored 6 runs. The Divisional Championship matchups and schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes. |
